Monster Manor: Graceful Monsters’ Haunted House

Come learn the tricks of a good haunting, as we create and decorate our haunted manor before receiving guests in this spooky season!

“Monster School” By: Michele Emerick and Dennis Poore

It’s the first day of school and Debbie and Kevin, the two new kids, feel a bit out of place. It’s Monster School, and their fellow students include vampires, werewolves, mummies, ghosts, bats, banshees, trolls, and zombies. The monsters think the new human kids look scary, spooky, and just plain creepy, and it doesn’t help when Debbie accidentally sits on the Invisible Girl. Meanwhile, Debbie and Kevin must deal with the banshees wailing, the mummies rapping, the zombies groaning, the trolls grumbling, and Drey Cula staring at their necks. Classes include Cobweb Farming 101 and lessons on how to make a door creak. When the students discover a developer has purchased Monster School with plans to tear it down, they must band together and fight to save their school―but using garlic, stakes, torches, and pitchforks isn’t an option!

The Enchanted Bookshop

During the day, A Likely Story may look like any other used bookstore.  But at night, it’s a place where magic happens.  That’s when the characters inside the books come alive.  Six of those characters — Dorothy Gale, Robin Hood, Pollyanna, Sherlock Holmes, Heidi, and Tom Sawyer — long to help Margie, the scatterbrained owner, save her struggling store.  But they’re not allowed to leave the building or be seen by human eyes.  So when a pair of smugglers comes looking for a stolen necklace hidden inside one of the books, the characters are torn.  Should they warn Margie and risk disappearing forever?  Or can they find a way to defeat the crooks without being seen? This charming comedy celebrates the joy of reading in a fresh, fun-filled way.
